Welcome to RM, all i can say is that 20-30 years ago this was a job for people in the latter stages of their working lives who wanted a nice steady job to see them through their last 10 years until they retired. Now it's more a young man's game!

Welcome to RM, all i can say is that 20-30 years ago this was a job for people in the latter stages of their working lives who wanted a nice steady job to see them through their last 10 years until they retired. Now it's more a young man's game!

A young mans game, your not wrong there mate the bags weigh a ton and no1 weighs them. Dont get my break im entitled to coz i feel my partner wants to get out, not the type to take s**t tho i will speak up if it carrys on. Do actually enjoy being out there but not today was a bit wet wet wet #SoggySocks

I came away from the Induction Day with several pages of A4 containing a "training record" to be completed as and when I was shown each of the 30 or so things on it. T date the only thing completed is that I attending the Induction Day.

Me and you are on the same page then , was told to take it on my first day at the office but no1 even asked for it so that was a load bollo**s , the only thing ive seen is the frame and the pavement and a few dogs that wana bite my arse.

yes, training is poor but once you get past the first few weeks then you will know mostly all you need to know.

at least, you are in a shared-van and p&l - less training needed for the round itself and you have a colleague to guide you - lucky!

I did tell you about the the lack of breaks for less than 30 hours part-timers. * The fact is that most posties work through their breaks and it is almost impossible for yourself to have a break before delivery - you are only entitled to 20 minutes.

** Just tell you partner, you need a breather from time to time and if you want to have a snack, say so. (you need to keep you energy up)

I will chris j, don't get me wrong it seems like a OK job but i can see a lot of the things that happen in RM and I've only been here 5 mins , just don't understand such a big company having so many flaws , bit of a joke. And the break situation is just pain and simple wrong and its illegal as well maximum 4 hours work without a break!

You should not be carrying any bags on the shoulder. Do the job properly and show the job for what it really is!

yeah , ive been at my office along time ( 20yrs ) in that time the stick has just beat us to the system we have now , which frankly is crap .
just had a newbee at my office he runs marathons and does moutain biking competitions , easy he thought .
he was flaking by the end of wk 1 saying "" he couldnt belive how relentless the job is and its serioulsy hard graft "" 4hrs 30 mins constant walking at pace just so you can get round on time.
he was well knackerd after wk1 .
apart from that he comes in to a 90% preped duty finishes off then out the door so theres just no time to great and meet , crazy situation .
oh yes and management come down on us for talking to anyone on the shop floor "if it isnt work related " , the place is a presure cooker waiting to blow .

what are you on about i am doing the job properly , haven't been shown these trolleys and wouldn't really be able to use one on my round anyway, and i am showing the job for what it really is.
