last Monday I gave a written note to my dom wishing to change a holiday/annual leave day I wanted to swap mon 25th nov off and have today off sat 9th nov instead. He said leave it with me that should be ok.today my dom has his day off and we have this other dom in,out of the blue at 7am I get a call this morning from the lass in the locker room not the dom ,she said are you coming in this morning,my reply was no ive swapped an annuul leave day off,she appolagised and we both put the phone down,ive heard 2 people had to do my duty today after completing there own.monday our dom is back at work,is it his mess up he surely should have seen me during the week if I could not have had today off,i don't want this counting as I sick day surely its my doms fault,what should I say on Monday

This is why whenever you get any leave changed you should get an updated leave card printed out straight away! Then there are no come backs. If if was me I would not have taken the dom saying "leave it with me" enough to take the day off. I would have wanted proof that the leave day had been changed. The same goes if your day off falls on a bank holiday, once the day has passed get an updated leave card so you know the bank holiday has been credited back to your leave before you forget about it.

Always check the change has been done, and get a printout of your leave card.
Then there can be no mistakes. Or phone calls at 7am on a Saturday....

In fairness, I think I'd go to the DOM asking why I was called on my day off?
I wouldn't appreciate my leave being interrupted by work.

I'm sure the DOM will say that he got a phone call because he was not on leave, and of course there will no trace of the request he put in writing.

It can't go down as a sick day unless you actually say you're sick
