i havent seen a manager for a long time,they are just postmen on managers money! their day- we cut off, they deliver it & we all blame the planners!

i wouldn't worry too much, i remember being told 6-7 years ago that we will need 5-6 lots of d2drs in our bags as the mail is dropping off so fast!!! 5-6 years later ive got more in my bags than ever! Moral of the story- We are fed bullshit to fear for our jobs to go the extra mile!

They are an obvious target now that privatisation is here.It was always predicted that managers would be extremely vulnerable post-privatisation.
They have served their purpose and now face downgrading or the push.

More than lightly "non operational Mngt" would be the the first to be culled, but saying that there does appear to be an EVR option for Mngt in our Division ................

I look at the delivery office I work in and think that the place could almost run itself without managers, then I look again at all the useless and lazy idiots that work there and no way could it. so I would think a large cull would be very unlikely.

good point same happens at our office if the management is not pushing you to work it dont get done

Explain to me why we have 90 staff and 6 managers between 630-930 then 99% staff go out on delivery 930-10 yet we still have the same amount of managers.

Who/what are they managing?

Maybe they are managing the kettle! I'm surprised you have 6 managers for 90 staff that seems like a lot. I can see your point about after 9:30-10:00 but then they are hardly going to employ the managers for the hours between 6:30-9:30 only.
