Can't remember what it's called but it tells them how much mail each walk gets and the time allocated to complete prep..In our office they constantly use it as a stick to beat us with when claiming overtime...Can anybody shed an light on this for me and is a legally binding document thanks..

anything like this is not an individual performance tool,its all indoor methods which is an office tool,to see how the office is doing, example- if your office is down on sorters and you are on the ips 30 minutes longer that means you will get out out on delivery half hour later than this little book has planned! Tell your managers the only test they can do on us is a one minute prep test on an EMPTY frame. If they are using this to take overtime off you or harass you into doing overtime get your rep on it asap & get area rep involved asap,these things are best stopped before they become normal practice.

wrong,if i remember right its about 26 unsequenced letters in one minute,maybe somebody has the exact figure, thats the only individual performance test they can use. Anything else is just rubbish, that 7 minute crap is just that crap! Tell your manager to put it in writing that he is testing you on throwing a tray out in 7 minutes see what he says. All this about what time your duty should be out on delivery is not a tool to threaten you with! We all know these things are stupid as if the job is done right with breaks all this is unachievable, always remember the only test they can use is the one minute prep test.

If I remember the tool used was Pegasus unless that has changed. The whole system that management use is flawed anyway as its based upon the offices quietest weeks. Then when have management bothered with the facts. My mate who is an area delivery rep and worked for rm for 30 years plus has said that they still want to deliver cuts of 5% every year since he started!!!! Fact no more to cut. Maybe privatisation will catch some of this rascals out?

No. Pegasus is used for planning outdoor workload, IWT is used for indoor workload. IWT has a forecast and live version so it is based on the forecast traffic figures and then updated daily with that days actual traffic figures.

Even when your sequenced box is full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 too much variation from box to box. Your gaffer is a fool no doubt a DSM role awaits them.

The lack of honesty and common sense in the managerial roles within RM is astounding!! The sad thing is spreading misinformation like this is to apply pressure on frontline staff

Even better, print out a A4 sheet saying that he is testing you on throwing a tray out in 7 minutes, with three lines, for his signature your signature and the union reps signature, get him to sign it there and then.

IWT is for planning indoor work, but should not be used for performance management. And the figures in it are flawed, how many times do they check what number of redirections you have. How much double handling you have. The number of D2D items needs to be reflected too. However with D2D i think them figures are flawed as time to collate and squeeze into an already full frame is unlikely to be included.
