When does overtime go into your pay?

Apologies for my lack of forum etiquette, I'm new to this stuff.

I recently became a postie and have been working quite a lot of overtime. What overtime goes into my pay? Is it the previous week's overtime, starting with what I did on the Monday and ending with what I worked on the Saturday? I'm trying to monitor if I'm being paid accurately for what I've worked; from what I've heard it's a nightmare chasing up overtime.

Usually whatever overtime you will be in your pay the following week

Chances are your boss will try and take advantage of the fact that you are new, and will stiff you for some of your overtime, so always keep a note of how much you have claimed and on what day, so that you can be specific about what day's overtime is missing.
