30 minute flex rule from mod agreement

hi really need some advice from people who can help. Told today that tomorrow we will be told we have got to work 30 minutes over and can come in 30 minutes later on sat. Can the 30 minute swings & roundabouts part of this agreement be used to make people work over? I always thought you could still say no as it was a choice?

No you cannot be forced to work 30 minutes over , it is entirely voluntary. The 30 minutes flexibility is only for unforeseen circumstances if your manager knows you will have to work 30 minutes over tomorrow it is hardly unforeseen

What if you have kids to pick up? An appointemt? Or simply don't want to work later,Its your choice not the managers.
Coming in later on Saturday? Hes taking the piss,Agree to this and it will be a regular thing.

Tell them you will finish early 30 mins to as you gave them time at the end you want it back at the end not when they want you to have the time back

correct cannot not be disciplined for it, if theres been a threat of it, an email to moya will sort the problem pretty pronto, got to say it for emailing a senior managers office, you do get pretty quick action over issues and most usually the correct actions

You should be able to finish before you're time on sat if you are past you're time rest of week ,this swings n roundabout is so one sided it's a joke . Bout time union kicked this crap out

the agreement says they can ask so to me that says we have a choice,but when the dom spoke to me it was if he could just do it and that was that.

Lapsing is supposed to be done because there is spare capacity. It should be able to be completed within your contracted hours.
If you cannot complete it within your contracted hours, then there isn't any capacity for lapsing.
You cannot enforce the 30 minute flex to allow lapsing.

It all comes back to the same thing. Delivery posties do not work to their time. This sort of thing works perfectly well in MCs - although their job is fairly straightforward.

How can they ensure that posties (in delivery) actually get any time back given that most people come in early - and most of us come in even earlier on a Saturday. Moreover, the job is not a straightforward start now finish then - not like MC.

This is a one way street for your manager.

Yeah they pulled up the 30 mins flex in our wtl. They can only ask and you can ask when you want the time back, if it doesn't suit you then you can say no. I pointed out the greement also said they want every paid hour worked so don't ask me to flex when runner are going home at 12:30.

You cannot get in any trouble if you say no every time.
