My manager has deducted an hours overtime from me for forgetting to sign out at the end of my duty on two days.
Where do I stand? Can he do this?

No. He cannot deduct any overtime without your say so. Please inform your rep at the earliest opportunity.

Make sure you sign out mate. He'd probably argue you couldn't prove what time you left the office because there was nothing on the sheet.
Don't give them any ammunition or excuses to muck you about.

Unless the manager was stood there (and counter signing against your name maybe), then they couldn't prove what time you left either.
Plus, maybe the office was locked up and they couldn't get into the building to sign out.

Nope office wasn't locked I just forgot! Will speak to union rep and see what he says. I have a feeling he will side with manager though

I was merely offering a 'get out' clause.

Either way, it's irrelevant. Failing to sign out is a disciplinary issue.

As the last guy said if he has an issue with you not signing out he should conduct code you, he has no right to take overtime off you.
