we all thought a special delivery had to be delivered before 1pm monday to friday. thats obvious. what about saturdays. if its a normal special delivery and not saturday guarenteed does it still have to be delivered before 1pm on a sat. and what about redelivery special deliveries. if they have already been attempted delivery and a customers request a redlivery, does this too have to be made before 1pm even though it has already been attempted before 1pm the first time. i brign this up as all of a sudden our manager has told us whether sat guarenteed or not they all msut eb ebfore 1pm, same with re-deliveries. when i first joined RM i was told only sat guarenteed SD have to be before 1pm on a sat, and redliveries can be any time

No. The 1 p.m. delivery only applies to the first attempt. They had their chance.

Most units do not differentiate between those carrying the SG label and those without, and as the delivery operative you cannot. If there is a reason why you are struggling to make those deliveries perhaps you should ask your Union Rep to make a case for holding back the non SG's for future resourcing.

I always deliver SD's before 1pm Mondays/Saturdays and redeliveries.. Get them done before 1pm then no complaints can be made..

Why do they class international stuff as SD when you can't even scan half of them?

true point then you tell your DOM before you go out and they either take it or it gets done after 1 pm or you break off to do it and leave more mail behind.

USA items also classed as SD's now, they're all tiny packets and no SIG required etc but treated same, so our firms drivers do them too now

They still need to be delivered by 1pm (or 9am if it's a 9am) otherwise the system will see it as a failure.

Why? It's probably taken days, if not weeks, to get here so it can't possibly be before 1pm next day!

If its received at the MC locker and despatched by them then any item received by the DO locker has to treated as a special. Our MC locker get bags and bags of international items that bear barcodes and we are told not to despatch any express items especially express items from the USA.
