Holidays question

I'm currently a leave reserve and I attended work on my scheduled day to find my walk already being pulled out by someone doing overtime. This was due to a cock up in the office. I was told of this mistake and sent home. I've now discovered I've had a holiday booked for this day. I spoke to my manager and he's informed me that if I want this holiday date back I owe the company a days work as I didn't work that day. Can anyone tell me if this is correct as I attended on a day I was supposed to be working and without anything to do the manager sent me home without telling me I'd loose a days holiday. It wasn't my choice to go home, it was the managers. Btw that ones left and a new ones throwing his weight around now, will it ever stop

They paid someone overtime and you turned up to do the duty ????

If you attended on a day you were supposed to be working and the manager sent you home without telling you you would loose anything then it should be as if you had worked a full day.

Thanks guys, union rep saw him this morning and surprisingly he came and saw me to tell me it's been credited back! Only thing that gets my goat is he sounded like he was doing me a favour
