Need confirmation because of conflicting reports
If you start sunday night shift before 4.30
Do you complete duty and strike tuesday or walk out at 4.30 on monday

NATIONAL DISPUTE – INDUSTRIAL ACTION NOTICE (ROYAL MAIL GROUP)


Further to LTB 718/13 Branches will wish to know that the CWU has today served notice for industrial action.


The industrial action notice covers all duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 04.30 a.m. on Monday 4th November 2013 and before 04.30 a.m. on Tuesday 5th November 2013.


A further update on the national talks will be provided to Branches on Wednesday 30th October.

My hours are 04.20-12.08. Everyone else starts at 05.30. Does this mean I,ll be working monday and striking by myself tuesday?

I stand ready to be corrected but I would say that you'd start at 0420 as normal, then walk out at 0430 when the strike officially starts.
On Tuesday you'd start at 0430.

I,ve spoken to one of the night shift who says they,re working sunday night and striking monday night. It appears I should be on strike tuesday as the 24 hr stoppage applies to start times. Anyone else in this situation? Surely I can,t be alone.

No one cuts off their duty. If your duty starts before 4:30 you will on strike Monday into Tuesday. It is a whole shift each.
