electronic cigarettes e cigs

I quit smoking a few weeks ago, however as an aide in my addiction I have invested in an e cig which is vapour rather than anything burning....this I am using as and when my craving takes me to the point of borderline violence haha.... so its not classed as smoking due to nothing burning... no smoke without fire etc...

these are legal to use in pubs, restaurants etc...

however after seeking guidance with various managers as to where I can use them I have been told the only place is the smoking shelter as it has nicotine in it. Other stop smoking aides have nicotine in them...if I wore a 24 hour patch would I have to stand in the shelter for the duration of my shift as this also has nicotine in it...?

. I have quit the tobacco cigarettes I couldn't think of anything worse than standing in the shelter with other smokers as this might just end in me snatching someones fag off them and finishing it haha

so just wondering what is the stance at other offices on e cigs? I dont expect to be able to use it on the shop floor but I did expect more support in my stop smoking journey than I have received so far from management..

Not sure about that one I know there not allowed in football stadiums because I saw someone get ejected while I was watching my beloved Man City last season. It was in the local paper he got a season ban for it >>>

I use them.

They are not illegal as such,but some places have banned them,more so because it seems that peeps 'vaping' are confused with smokers and people light up or throw a strop ect as they are very realistic.

I have been in a few places that allow e cigs including pubs and restaurants.. in fact I haven't been told they are not allowed in any of the public places I have visited since using 1.... however I don't get out much haha... mine doesn't look like a proper cig it looks more like a pen...

I don't mind going outside to use it either whilst at work I just dont like the fact that i am expected to go in the smoking shelter as being around smokers is the last place someone who is trying to quit wants to be!

I have attended meetings where the issue was discussed and the resultant consensus was that their use within the workplace will not be allowed.

Whether this has as yet been integrated into the appropriate policies to be filtered down the system, I have no idea.

Been using one of these since march. They are good and I admit now if I had a choice it would be this over the marlboro now. I dont use it much indoors because of the comments above which I kind of understand. I do use it in the van though. I do get odd looks off the public though when they think im faggin it. Lazy posties smoking in vans tut tut..
No doubt the do gooders will want to put a stop to it at some point. Your not allowed any enjoyment in the uk now.

as im sure as an ex smoker yourself you will probably apprieciate how difficult stopping smoking is...

agree mate think it has been said before it is harder to give up smoking than it is come off drugs like cocaine or heroin might be wrong though.
