Re: cutting off-sanity questioned
Are you going sick ?
If so I would recommend that you say that you did take a break on your return to work.
The job has become so physical you need to watch your blood sugar levels and make sure you eat something sensible with a slow release before you go out on delivery. I would also recommend you get something like dried nuts and fruit to keep a bag in your pocket and snack on the way round. Remember to hydrate also.
Take it easy esp if you have to drive.
Slow down and cut off if you run out of time. If the dom starts then see your rep, don't be bullied into making yourself ill.

Re: cutting off-sanity questioned
Sorry this job CAN be a good job ,by simply doing it as INSTRUCTED BY ROYAL MAIL 1-coming in on your time 2-taking your break 3-walking round your delivery 4-putting your seat belt on AT ALL TIMES and not reading your mail while walking or driving 5- secure your van at ALL times just have a small bundle of mail in front ,don't excelarate or break harshly ,always use the trolleys ,don't take short cuts across gardens etc .Job couldn't be easier ,now you could do the opposite to what PO say, and what happens 1-You get round in half the time so there for MORE LAPSING 2- If something goes wrong and the investigation finds you broke any of the above you will be possibly be sacked 3- you are killing yourself and the duty so the choice is yours .

Re: cutting off-sanity questioned
Its not your fault as that's down to bad management trying to put pressure on you when you have already told them you felt unwell. Its a unsafe practice and is down to bad training of RM Doms.spiderj wrote:Feel crappy for allowin myself to be bullied today
Watch out for the "not taking a break bit" being thrown at you. Just taking a 10 min stop before you go out and eating a couple of cereal bars and a banana with some juice can help.

I loved winding up my Lino by quoting chapter and verse of the agreement, regarding unsustainable workloads, I probably know more than they do, ever since they tried to stop paying my overtime, I cutted instead, I have no fear of them and they don't like it.

You'll gradually get better at standing up for yourself; just remember that your in the right here and it's your right to cut off. And not all of us are ruled by money, some of us have a life outside of work.spiderj wrote:Yes

Regarding feeling faint whilst on delivery, I get the same way if I do not eat for periods of time - I suggest a good bowl of porridge in the morning(keeps me going!), and something substantial like sandwich for break time when you get peckish - i've tried living off chocolate/sucky sweets(because it was quick to eat) but it doesn't satisfy for long.
