Branches are advised that arrangements have been made for a National Rally on Monday 4th November 2013, commencing at 12 noon at the:- Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre
Broad Sanctuary
Westminster
London
SW1P 3EE

Travel and subsistence costs associated with attendance at the National Rally will be in line with the instructions and advice in issued in LTB 506/04.
Updates and emails on the dispute will be provided in due course.
Any enquiries on the content of this LTB should be directed to the DGS (P) Department.

How can it be NATIONAL.
If it was NATIONAL every city in the land would be holding a rally. No one is going to take notice of an event just held in the capital. Get real CWU and make this truly NATIONAL, available to all cwu members.

Sorry having thought long and hard about this I and others in our area have decided we won't be going down to the smoke for the demo. We will be doing what we should be all going and manning the barricades. Too many posties to be comfortable are saying they will come in on strike day because of the £300 bribe ( even though they've been told we either all get it or none if us). I believe it is our duty to man the picket line and look into the strikebreakers eyes and ask why? Also our local press would have a field day reporting that our members are working and no picket lines were present. A demo would be a good idea the 3rd or 4th day of a dispute but certainly not the first, any other branches intending to. Do as us and only send a token coach south whilst we picket every single office.

Agree so what our are leaders justification for it? is Norris Mcquirter gonna say we are record breakers for the most pointless demos in union history.

Have to agree the picket line is the place to be should the strike go ahead.

Well like all things union they truly believe that London IS national - but in reality London public couldn't really give a monkeys f"ck one way or t'other - the people who are truly concerned are rural dwellers who WILL lose out. National March? will be like Andy Warhol's 15 minutes of fame and as quickly forgotten. As for the union not informing RM - they already have - it's 4th of November.................in case anyone is interested that is.

Perhaps other branches especially northern ones are planning to do the same as us ie only send a token group down to the smoke and concentrate in manning the picket lines at home. It looks like the tip brass have realised this as looking at the conference centre booked the largest rooms available only hold 1300, which is not really conducive to an anticipated 20,000 demo
