Suddenly leaving union

How many union members in your office have suddenly decided to leave the union when there is any mention of strike action, giving themselves an excuse to cross the picket line on strike days, and not lose pay. In the past we had several posties who would do this and then surprise surprise after all the "fuss" had died down, rejoin the union . Isnt it about time that the union said NO to these people, or are they really SO desperate for the money generated from union subs regardless of principles.

Surprisingly in my Unit we have actually had most of the non members sign up, so that they can go on strike!

I'm sure i read somewhere that because of the dwindling membership numbers, & loss of revenue, the RM would put into the pot?, i may be wrong. But, if this was the case, isn't it a conflict of interest and surely shouldn't be allowed to happen, as then you have the RM being benefactors, & no wonder we don't get any decent agreements.

I cannot see this being the case, for a start any contribution would have to be explained in the accounts.
