Paternity pay??

Hi all,

I'm due to become a dad at the end of November and have a question. Do we get 2 weeks full pay off Royal mail and another 2 weeks Statutory off the Government meaning I can have between 2-4 weeks off if I choose to?

You only get ASPP if your wife returns to work.
See if she'll wear that one.

You are entitled to 2 weeks paid paternity leave now. It used to be 1 week full pay, & 1 week half pay, i think.

As said above if your wife returns to work before the SMP period is over you can have time off and receive the pay. I had 6 weeks off when my wife went back to work and was getting around £130 per week - from memory I think I got a tax refund of around £5 per week plus the £125 paternity pay.

Can't. You're entitled to 2 weeks full pay. If you want more time off ask for A/L. I've known a few do that, they keep a spare week available.
Does require a compassionate/understanding and decent boss though....

As posted above, if you want more paternity, you can but it comes off your wife's maternity leave.
