RUNNING ON DELIVERY

Just wandered what is the official line on running are we allowed to or is it against h+s ,because myself and regular partner do not run just walk steady pace but dom keeps complaining we r too slow, we only claim about 1-3 hrs protracted per week . but last 2 weeks have been with reserve as partner on hol and he runs like a fool and helps out on every loop so we are getting back early or on time, so now dom says we need to be tested as we re too slow, i did explain that this guy runs and makes mistakes because he obviously can not concentrate properly when running but dom is not interested he is just glad to pay less docket, i asked the runner not to help me on my loop as i want to do it myself but he insists on helping so we get back earlier.What is supposed to happen are we supposed to help each other as most guys i work with do not bother? also can i complain/get him to stop running , app he does it on all walks and people are a bit peed off with him!

Runners f**k things up for everyone as they make a walk look like it takes less time then it does. It might also be an H&S issue as he might not be paying so much attention to an obstacles or things he could slip over. If he has an accident and he was running the DOM would probably hand the guy his P45

Runners seem to outnumber walkers in our office. The managers love it. There's a few nutcases who will sometimes do up to 3 walks in a day, and claim to have completed certain walks in little more than 1 hour 30 minutes, as though it's a race. These guys somehow seem to have gotten away with it without any injuries for a long long time now, and I know they do make very good money from all the o/t. But one day they'll rupture a ligament, tear a tendon or fall flat on their face jumping over someone's garden wall, and learn their lesson the hard way with absolutely no sympathy from management either. I prefer to walk a brisk but comfortable speed, which makes me look slow by comparison but I don't care. Would rather do my job at a sensible pace and try to enjoy my days work than put ridiculous and unnecessary pressure on myself.

I wish you were right because I hardly believed it first, but I can personally vouch that it happens. Like many offices, there are some good walks and some bad walks. They'll usually do a combination of different walks in different offices, sometimes half a walk sometimes a full one, and then move on to the next. They're out there until as late as 6 or 7pm, and then back in the following morning an hour before their start time These people have no lives.

are walks are about 3 and a half to 4 hrs noone could do 3 walks a day not even the runners, as for the runner he actually ran into someone on pavement an older guy who he nearly knocked over! he is desperate to get back to do ot sometimes at another office!n people like him are making us average walking guys look bad and dom keeps saying we are too slow when i told him to come out and watch me on delivrery he has declined i am now awaiting union response as to being told i am too slow and i will be cutting off from mon as partner back as we also have 20 mins lapsing we are still doing! :

If you injure yourself on delivery, and you tell them you were running, you'll get conduct coded for it.
And it won't be an accident, it'll be an incident.

Totally stunned that some Posties are behaving like this! Although I don't disbelieve you, this habit of moving from office to office completing walks surprises me. Are these offices close together? I've seen posts saying the offices are in separate districts!

By Father thinks his Postie is great and says he's always running everywhere. I told him next time he sees him tell him he's an asshole and don't forget to vote yes! Whenever I write to my Father I put "Stop Running John"! on the envelope.....hope he gets the message.
