Interesting message!

Read a message on my PDA today. All special deliveries must be completed on time as from 21st October and they will send another message to our PDA to remind us to break off and do all the special deliveries. It would seem they have no intention of reaching an agreement and a strike will happen.

we have been getting this message to all of our PDA's for the last couple of weeks but that's because our Revision goes live on Monday 21st Oct.

although it could be sent nationwide, but I thought it would only be our DO's pda's. Perhaps not.

What has it got to do with not reaching an agreement?

if half the offices stop doing confirmation by default on the track and trace guns, it would highlight how bad we actually are for specials

Annoying, and all because some people can't be arsed to do the job properly, same old same old. The number of stupid things that have been implemented, just because a minority are incompetent, beggars belief!

Kind of thinking that they want to make sure that everything is complete the week prior to strike? Might cost the a small fortune? I don't know.

they could send as many messages as they like I'm not opening them.

As far as I'm aware I have to deliver Special Deliveries by 1pm, I have a watch, and can tell the time, many a time I have delivered my last Special at 12.59, job done

As facebook says LIKE. Had these messages at least twice daily, just deleted them. Never have I failed a special, and I will try my best to maintain this standard.

More likely that if you fail a special you will be conducted. "We sent you a message"

your all wrong, the reason why it says about your special delivery items is they know on the 4th november that
thick managers will be trying to deliver the items by 1.00pm this will only be the job they will have to do all day,
sorry plus they have to have there conferance call to say how many strike breakers are in there office.
will be loads of saturday retentions and re-delivery parcels that monday.

I argued this at the last 'revision' no time has been built into the duty to allow for 'breaking off', when you say to them ok do what you want, I will just bring back anything over my time caused by breaking off they look at you like you've an alien growing out your head....just so bloody fed up, they bring in all these amazing idea's increase the duty size and nothing takes any extra time....del to neighbour, d2d's,breaking off, filling the van up, van checks, LWT's, sign this sign that, it all takes extra time yet none is added to the duty then you say your cutting off you get abuse and told that your slow then dragged off for an informal meeting with the DIM. (not me personally by the way just what I've been watching happen round the office lately)

On a side note I would have thought RM being the H&S conscious employer that it is wouldn't send text messages to every PDA while some could be driving at the time.
