Gauging by the general chat in the office today over half of the staff look like theyre prepared to break the strike on 4th November. This includes a number who voted yes but arent willing to back it up. Rep is trying to talk sense into them but its like banging youre head against a wall. Just wondered what the picture is around the country.

I know a lot of posties at our office didn't/could not be bothered to vote, but will not cross picket line, despite reservations.

There's a lot of hot air in our DO (130 people) from the "I'm going into work" greedhead brigade (about 30% of the office). Hopefully a friendly picket line will persuade most them otherwise :)

Management are being involved in the conversations so reading the post wont matter. I hope that most of this is hot air, although an alarming amount of them still think the £300 for strike breaking will actually be paid. I voted yes and will stick to my guns, I hope the CWU do likewise.

Only know of three at the moment who say they will be crossing the picket lines out of over 100 posties. Two are the most unpopular guys in the office so they are doing it just to annoy everyone else as some kind of revenge. The third is super mercenary, he'd sell his granny for a quid if he could!

I expect there may be one or two others but where our office is positioned there is no back way in unlike the last strikes, as we've moved to new location. Anyone coming in to our office will have to do so in full view of the picket lines..... will be interesting to see who would crap on thier mates for a days pay and a mythical £300 they will never get!

Can't really see more than 30 going to work on 4th Nov out of over 900 at Bristol Mail Centre. They will bring in many casuals, and managers will try to process the mail themselves, but it will be a monumental f**k up. I'd say with all shifts going out in the same 24 hours it will take 3 days to fully catch up. The knock on effect at delivery offices in Bristol could be larger.

At my office in Manchester I expect 2 out of 80 to go in , for those telling me they cannot afford to strike my reply is can they afford to pay a cut 6.90 per hour ,they soon change their minds,why do you think moya wants to introduce a no strike agreement.
