I quite like their agenda, workers MP's on workers wages , union officials on members wages , postcomm out , Brown out ,build a representative workers party to challenge the three tory parties, organising the joint shop stewards commitee, attempting to co ordinate cross union support and IA to defend our jobs and conditions.baldrick wrote:Yeah - I welcome support from any pro trade union/socialist party/group who want to help us, but be aware that they have their own agenda and are mainly looking for recruits.
They are offering unconditional support and practical assistance, yes it gives them an audience for their views but i don't think recruitment is mandatory

I wouldn't worry. It's years since Hatton had anything to do with politics. I'm not a member of a political party, but I know quite a few people on the left. The big problem with them for me is the idea that the working class needs a vanguard party of elite socialists to lead uo forward to revolution. I don't think we do. When the majority of the working class want to have a revolution, we'll have one. I firmly believe we have enough people with minds of our own without being directed by something Lenin said 100 years ago to get rid of capitalism whenever we think the time is right. But I'm quite happy to work with people from the left and I welcome their support and solidarity.PrestwickPostie wrote:i don't want anything to do with Hatton and his colleagues ... he is damaged goods

Most of the dozen or so left groups/parties have the same policies as you've outlined. Trouble is they are all small and seem to spend more time fighting each other than fighting the bosses. I welcome their support and practical assistance too, but it will be up to us and our fellow postal workers how this dispute is resolved.BELIAL wrote:I quite like their agenda, workers MP's on workers wages , union officials on members wages , postcomm out , Brown out ,build a representative workers party to challenge the three tory parties, organising the joint shop stewards commitee, attempting to co ordinate cross union support and IA to defend our jobs and conditions.baldrick wrote:Yeah - I welcome support from any pro trade union/socialist party/group who want to help us, but be aware that they have their own agenda and are mainly looking for recruits.

Theres one polital party that would support you, the postal worker totally up for nationalization an reclaiming the business, against the deregulation of the mail by europe, of which france an germany have both realised is a bad thing an dragging heels but is often attacked by your fascist union. Its called the BNP. Everytime the BNP have a meeting of 50 members, 600 anti-nazi leasgue fascists outman them an shout them down. Just a thought.......

Don't care how small any of them are I hardly think we are in a position to spurn any well intentioned support. I'd swap the support we get from the large unified labour party for this lot's support anyday.baldrick wrote:Most of the dozen or so left groups/parties have the same policies as you've outlined. As for it being up to postal workers to determine the outcome of the dispute, you get first prize in the "stating the bleedin obvious' competition.

I don't think I could support another bosses party, which is what he BNP is. I certainly couldn't support a party which contains so many members with criminal convictions and who think the Nazi death camps never existed.moon71 wrote:Theres one polital party that would support you, the postal worker totally up for nationalization an reclaiming the business, against the deregulation of the mail by europe, of which france an germany have both realised is a bad thing an dragging heels but is often attacked by your fascist union. BNP are scum, when will people realise that most other parties are too. Im UK independance myself which is a wasted vote but still, my rep would probably ask me vote Respect. Respect for polish an eastern european workers for scabbing my office who are prepared to work for less and in my office getting 8hrs docket a day through the strike straight outta our pockets. If they didnt live here, our strike would be 100% an as there coming in, peeps are slowly following them. Sad thing is, very soon being on the picket line, i will be the minority same as being an english white. Rascist, not me, realist yes..........

Completely agree IWW, the BNP is not the party for any decent, honest working class person . Divisive, and vile a grotesque corruptor of working class discontent and a threat to all our aspirations.IWW Fellow Worker wrote:I don't think I could support another bosses party, which is what he BNP is. Why vote for anyone? Voting some chancer in for four or five years then leaving him/her to it isn't domocracy as far as I can see. Once in parliament, they don't vote the way the constituents want them to. They vote how their party tells them to. They ever consult you on your views. In this country, voting is all about getting rid of one lot of crap heads and replacing them with another lot.moon71 wrote:Totally agree but still, vote for any mainstream party an you'll find most there family got shares in our rival companies or are guilty of blue collar crime.
