Proposal to reduce working hours

I have learned that the management in our delivery office have decided that all part timers are to have their contractual hours reduced,i find this hard to believe.
Is this even legal as i have NO desire to reduce my hours from 32 to 27.
There are numerous staff both ft and pt who work their days off every week so surely if its a cost cutting exercise they should perhaps cut OT.
I have found a contract that i signed 6yrs ago and could find nothing regarding the option of the RM changing my weekly hours however i was issued a new contract 18months ago when i changed duty and my contractual hours where increased unfortunately i cannot find this to read.I do recall there was no mention of the duty being on a temporary basis it was a permanent change as the duty was vacant.
I also cannot see how they can justifying reducing the contracts of at least 30 pt but the ft are immune to any of this,i can only assume the pt are considered to be the lowest of the low by everyone other than pt.

Don't' think they can do that without your cooperation and willingness to reduce your hours.
Just think what would happen if cwu lose this strike.

Have they offered Buy Down ?

Anyway its against BT2010 Page 34

no member of staff will be forced to buy down their hours/go part-time and no
part-time employees will be forced to increase their contractual hours

at ours after revision just over 2 years ago, it was 40/30 and a few 20ish contracts
40 became 39 and the rest were made up to 34 unless they preferred to stay on the 20-ish
it was made clear that anyone whose hours were upped could be lowered back to the original contracted hours, neither was put in writing so i'd guess the legal eagles would prove that ours (34) could be lowered at any given time, but would they raise the 39 back to 40?

not only is the proposal to slash P/T hours but also P/T employees who do not have their own regular duties will not be required to work on Tuesdays instead several deliveries will be lapsed by those who are working the Tuesday as well as covering any holiday sick absentees.
They are obviously making sure that every day is heavy they have succeeded with Saturdays so only a matter of time before Tuesdays were targeted.
I will seek legal advice regarding the laws around contracts thanks for your replys
