Refuse deliveries on strike day

Hello,

Would it be worthwhile refusing to accept mail at your home that has been handled in a strike?

I thought about the options:

1) tell the scab to get lost or you'll set the dogs on them

But the mail may be returned to sender

2)take any mail received and repost it with 'misdelivered' written on it

It would get to you next day I hope


Of course it may be that they only manage to take out special deliveries.


Anyone got any thoughts on this issue?

If there is a strike very little mail will be delivered on strike day. Only SDS and tracked , some packets and some collections will be done . Messing with customers mail is silly and futile .

mail is rarely delivered in strikes, if strike breakers go in they usually end up sorting and prepping all day so its ready for everyone the next day

If any mail has been prepped into my frame after going back in after strike day, i'll be pulling it all out, & starting from scratch!

I wouldn't, that could easily be classed as wilful delay.

How can that be construed as wilful delay? I didn't say i wouldn't take the mail out for delivery!, just that i would prep it in myself!

If I remember from strikes ages back( left the buisness 3 years now)once the mails in the frame it's classed as live to be delivered. Pulling it from the frame is deemed willful delay or tampering. I stand to be corrected.

We get more disruption to the mail with bad weather stopping air/boat delivery !!!! The CWU will have once again gained absolutly nothing by one day strikes. All our business mail will be delivered along with any Specials and packets. Posties will simply have a very busy November 5th after losing one days pay and a bonus.

nah i wouldnt do this either, what justification could you have for pulling the mail out ? youd be on very dodgy ground here. Just work at a "normal" pace and you shouldnt get near finished, whether mailed is prepped in or not

You may be able to check each piece of mail in the frame to make sure the duty has been prepped correctly though.

5th of november is not going to be busy, the 6th will be, think bank holiday, its always the second day after the bank holiday thats really busy as the mail centres have been off as well, so takes a day to start hitting into that back log
