just been on sky news, the presenter was talking to an employment lawyer. and it was announced royal mail would try to get an injunction,,,,,,THEN, she said ''if this proved fruitless, a yes vote does NOT mean we will be striking at christmas'' ''they would need ANOTHER BALLOT with another vote to go on strike at christmas.???? is this a feckn wind up?? never heard of that before. whats going on??

Could it be that they have found a legal loophole,

Maybe they have had legal advice that, because the ballot was held while RM was in the public sector, but the strike will be held while RM is in the private sector it cannot be legaly valid ?

We all know how trixy RM can be, they'd try anything to stop the strike

It would be pointless to try and stop the strike instead of negotiating it would not not resolve the underlying issue at hand. It's not going to go away magically just because of court action.

Royal Mail have had long enough to give us what we deserve and what do the union do give them more time. To arrange casuals to cover the manual side where management do the mechanical side. Yeah and as if rm give xxxx about being legal, sure they have broke nearly every rule in the past and will do so again. Have to agree with previous comments the strike should have been in 7days.

As far as I am aware we have to have 7 days notice for any strike but none for cancelling, so just to really cock things up, we could call a strike one week and just when they got all the casual sorted and PAID FOR, we can cancel with 8 to 24 hours to spare o everybody can get the message and turn causing RM a financial headache paying two lot of wages and an over crowded workplace taking over maximum occupancy making it illegal to operate.
