not paying overtime payments !!

hiya guys need to take a matter as far as possible haven't been paid overtime for the last 6 weeks owed 100 hours plus,

not getting anywhere can I take this a lot further than a grievance?

I think a Grievance would be the starting point for your complaint. That's a LOT of owed overtime!

In a smaller office the Grievance would be against your DOM and would therefore need to be dealt with by his Boss and the Union Area Rep, so no chance of hushing it up "In House". In larger Offices I presume a Grievance could be made about a particular manager, with responsibilities for entering the wages, and could in theory be dealt with by the main DOM and your Unit Rep. More room for B.S I feel.

Good Luck with it, you're not the only Postie with this problem. Royal Mail must be saving thousands....but don't let them get away with keep hassling them for it.

I haven't heard of any other steps you might take, although it would be nice to simply hand this type of problem over to solicitors or such. Perhaps some of the other users have had success is such matters. Maybe the small claims court would be the way to go? Perhaps it could be compared to a builder being owed for the work he's done on someone's house?

Normally they just seem to drag it out, often over several months, and just keep stalling. I sometimes think they're just hoping you'll get fed up and give in!

I sympathise with you. Like many I've had similar problems with a particular manager. Unless he disputes any o/t claim at the time then its effectiviely theft. I wouldn't have let so much o/t arrears build up and I hope you've stopped doing any until its resolved. Hopefully you've also kept a detailed record of the exact amount. I've found the grievance route a time delaying farce, where one dom tries to cover his mates arse. Don't be put off with whatever tactics they throw at you. A guy in our office threatened the legal route and it was promptly resolved.

She doesn't but one of her minions will contact a manager for the area.
That will eventually cascade down to your office.
Nobody likes having any sort of negative spotlight put on their area/office which is why e-mailing Moya is effective.
But it also paints a big target on your back.

If you are not getting paid for it on a weekly basis, why keep working OT. ? Simple as I see it !

because some of us are on 24 hours so the overtime is needed now and again.

If you're doing pre-planned OT then insist on having the P552 made out and countersigned by whoever authorises overtime at our office before you start the OT
