All one office?
All one office.
Some time ago before Park and Loop came in we had two divisions in our office in
South Manchester I will call them X and Y divisions so I don’t reveal the identity of the office. X division had good sorters and was off the sorting them days fairly rapid and out the door early as well but nowadays X division has to jump on (as the managers word it) to Y division but then when we ask why is this they say “Its all one office now” but now Y division is back finished at least 1 hour 15 mins before X division where as X division has had to leave packets in because they are now struggling to finish on time. Yet Y division can go home and the office pays overtime to get walks and packets done in ghosting time. Well is seems we are not one office when it comes to 1 30pm every day its a case of Y division has finished before you so its tough attitude.
Overtime lads (Runners) won’t touch door to doors so when the walk holder comes back from sick or leave he/she has last weeks door to doors thrown in his/her frame on a Monday from the week before.
How bad is this?

From what I understand is that to many door to doors are being sent back so offices has been told duplicate them in any way to get rid.

yes you can, if the contract wasnt completed last week, the dom is supposed to contact the walk bundling centre and ask for instructions what to do with them, its the same as if they were late arriving, the walk bundling centre should then contact the contractor and ask what to do, and then if they say deliver them the following week then thats what you dok979aaa wrote:No you should not do last weeks d2d against the contract!Chelseablue wrote:Loads of surplus d to ds can they demand you do them again following week just to get rid of them!...?..

Thats bulls**t what if there was a special offer on the door to doors and the date has ran out? Do you think some clown would still ask RM to deliver them when the promotion is over?zx135 wrote:yes you can, if the contract wasnt completed last week, the dom is supposed to contact the walk bundling centre and ask for instructions what to do with them, its the same as if they were late arriving, the walk bundling centre should then contact the contractor and ask what to do, and then if they say deliver them the following week then thats what you dok979aaa wrote:No you should not do last weeks d2d against the contract!Chelseablue wrote:Loads of surplus d to ds can they demand you do them again following week just to get rid of them!...?..

Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.

Since Royal Mail has breached its contract with the sender they would have to contact them and inform them.
Then it would be up to the sender whether having the D2D delivered the following week was an acceptable solution.
I can't see any situation where Royal Mail would be stupid enough to refuse that solution, have to refund the customer and risk losing a lucrative contract.
I also cannot for the life of me see any situation where a member would refuse to deliver D2D inside their contracted hours.
That's just f***ing suicidal.

Re: All one office?
Fishtank I think there is a difference of doing last weeks door to doors than filling up a entire frame with them on a Monday morning for the person that has just been on leave or sick. We are on short hours Monday plus its 100% call rate personally I might consider doing 20% of last weeks doorS to door depending on the mail volume that day. Then again let the walk holder spread them out over the week catch up they call it.fishtank wrote:He's right.k979aaa wrote:bullshit contract is a date in time not done in time investigate why and return items you clearly lack all sense graduate manager?zx135 wrote:yes you can, if the contract wasnt completed last week, the dom is supposed to contact the walk bundling centre and ask for instructions what to do with them, its the same as if they were late arriving, the walk bundling centre should then contact the contractor and ask what to do, and then if they say deliver them the following week then thats what you dok979aaa wrote:No you should not do last weeks d2d against the contract!Chelseablue wrote:Loads of surplus d to ds can they demand you do them again following week just to get rid of them!...?..

There are far more sensible resourcing methods than filling up an entire frame with them on a Monday morning.Kings Norton wrote:Fishtank I think there is a difference of doing last weeks door to doors than filling up a entire frame with them on a Monday morning for the person that has just been on leave or sick. You would like to think that an experienced manager with the help of an experienced rep and the input of the duty holder would discuss that and come to a sensible resolution but in the event of the manager digging his/her heels in and insisting on this ridiculous idea then the solution would be to take as much of the frame you can to provide enough work until your finish time and let the manager resource the rest.
