Deputy managers must be the way forward?? Discussing this in our office today.

Plenty of saving could be made.

Far more likely job title even if the role is much the same.
It's likely they'll remove line managers from the business entirely so there isn't much point calling someone a deputy line manager.

Because they are the new model Lineos - in 5 years perhaps less I can teams of 5 paired duties coming under 1 PHG Equivalent who does the same tasks as a WPC does now and still have to complete a duty as well.

They'll be more WPCs than there are Lineos at present but it will save them loads of money as plenty of people have accepted the role for an extra 75p per hour. One of the reasons I think a cull on Operational Managers is a near certainty.

dark times to come, the overpaid DOMs will be axed and they'll get some spotty twat little hitlerwith a degree on £16000 a year start to "manage" us :nana

Problem for Moya is the moment she tries to introduce team leaders, the present managers will be doing everything they can to sabotage them. Paper work for team leaders will not be produced, meetings will have no where to occur or be postponed. They wouldn't stand a chance.

Here's a likely scenario:

A current DOM will be in charge of 2 or 3 offices, in each office there will be a couple of managers under his supervision, then there will be Work Place Coaches/World Class Mail Champions about 1 to every 15/20 OPGs - who will also carry out a delivery prepared whilst he is supervising indoor work and I think there will be plenty of takers..................the quality will probably be very poor.
