Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
I wonder how many of us will unfairly lose our share entitlement as well as our jobs over the next 3 years. Those leaving for 'good reasons' such as being made redundant or getting IHR will be protected and keep them. But there will be those who will be pushed/forced out of the company for a variety of reasons such as B&H etc and they will not be protected and so lose them. I can only see claims for unfair and constructive dismissals increasing with now even more at stake.
What have I done to deserve this?

Re: Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
I will be probably need to employ an industrial relations/employment lawyer soon because I want to make myself a 'good leaver' without probably being a 'good leaver', if you know what I mean.
Vince Cable was a bit clueless on the topic yesterday when being grilled by MPs.
Can resigned employee be a 'good leaver' and can a (genuinely) sacked employee be a good leaver? They asked him (Cable) about if some punched someone and gets the sack and also asked if someone had to move location and so could not keep their job. He was not sure.

Re: Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
Vince did appear clueless on this. He seemed to imply that anyone apart from those sacked for gross misconduct would be deemed as a 'good leaver'. I got the impression he tried to fudge the issue to avoid more criticism from the MPs.chrisj wrote:I will be probably need to employ an industrial relations/employment lawyer soon because I want to make myself a 'good leaver' without probably being a 'good leaver', if you know what I mean.

The applications for IHR is likely to go through the roof on the back of this. There may be trouble ahead .........

I asked a similar question earlier as I intend to retire in 2 years when I am 60, so will I be a good leaver or will I be deemed just to have left before the 3 years are up?

According to Vince Cable you should be okay, but when his advice is received by the committee, and is published, hopefully we will post it here.Senior Service wrote:I asked a similar question earlier as I intend to retire in 2 years when I am 60, so will I be a good leaver or will I be deemed just to have left before the 3 years are up?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

B&H Is stress related is it not and stress can make you lose your job can it not you need a second opinion ATOS if you have lost it and you cannot return to this place of work and you get IHR who is not a good leaver then?Silly Sarah wrote:I wonder how many of us will unfairly lose our share entitlement as well as our jobs over the next 3 years. Re: Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
The problem is RM don't like admitting B&H goes on in their company, particularly by DOMs. If you take out a grievance they tend to go into denial/cover up mode. If you resign claiming your suffering from stress, as a result of it all, I suspect your going to have a hell of a fight to be included in the 'good reasons' category. As for ATOS, I have absolutely no faith in their judgements.k979aaa wrote:B&H Is stress related is it not and stress can make you lose your job can it not you need a second opinion ATOS if you have lost it and you cannot return to this place of work and you get IHR who is not a good leaver then?Silly Sarah wrote:I wonder how many of us will unfairly lose our share entitlement as well as our jobs over the next 3 years. Re: Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
If you go off sick for long enough and your doctor is on your side with the stress B&H you will get sent to ATOS if you cannot work in that place and royal mail not make adjustments for you they have to give you IHR. Not the way we all thought we would go but I never thought we would be SOLD. I can only wish you the best and good luck.Silly Sarah wrote:The problem is RM don't like admitting B&H goes on in their company, particularly by DOMs. If you take out a grievance they tend to go into denial/cover up mode. you will not lose your Free Shares"

Re: Will you be a 'Good Leaver'?
I can't see why someone resigning from the business should lose their shares. One could argue that they are saving RM the cost of a redundancy.
