iphone app for duty

I'm interested in getting an app for my iphone to track the length, my walking speed etc. No particular reason, just for fun.

I've tried mapmywalk, but to be honest it's I don't believe its that accurate as it also registers the back/forwards movement of your phone and not just the forward distance covered.

On my walk it read at 9 miles covered, which sounds too high tbh unless my loops are longer than I thought!

I've downloaded another one called distance meter which is useless, I've just switched it on and it says I've covered 0.2 miles - I haven't moved from the sofa and the iPhone is next to me!

I use RunKeeper, its accurate and didnt cost a penny. It uses up a lot of battery though

How can any postie afford anything from Apple?

I've used a Garmin FR610 with footpod. Very accurate can even monitor heart rate when when using the hr strap.

Takes me 5 hours..............that's all that matters to me.

Don't know if you can get them on Iphone but on Android I use "My Tracks" and "Endomondo" both are accessible on line and are free. They both integrate with google maps and google earth. Endomonodo does laps as well so you see where you are slower/faster. My tracks and Endomondo both do altitude as well.

Endomondo does send you challenges every month but you can ignore them .

Both keep a record of all uploads if you register and both have different modes, walking, cycling, running etc.

I use walkmeter for my iphone, very accurate,sat tracking , maps . Mph, pace you walk,etc.
Left it running in the van to test mileage which was spot on with speedo.
Only downside you have to pay for it,worth it if you use it outside work LIKE WALKING ha ha.

I've got a 610 I use for running,got to agree with you very accurate,just bought the Fenix,very complicated but I'm starting to like it.
