they wont be cancelled were in for the long fight this time and seems as though there were many more strike breakers than we first thought royal mail are digging there heels in more than ever now cause they know members cant afford much more of this

From what source is this information please.......i got no rumours to spread,but i just cant see AL & AC agreeing on anything,they will quiet happily see the RM fold and us with it,they will still get their promised bonus's and have their fingers in many more pies,the so called work they do in RM is only beer money for them.

I still believe it was they were employed to break the UCW and destroy the RM,so it can be privatised at a rock bottom price.

In my opinion a deal is a million miles away,unless someone can convince me differently.

Royal mail have no intention of making a deal untill they see how strong this four day action is.
If they see many going to work then you will get a bad deal!
If they see us solid then their postion will become weaker.
Think back to the summer and how they took us up on our offer for a period of calm.
They didn't do that because they liked us.

Get real ''people'' this is about the long term you lose £60 a day for now but you will lose, i guessing here but lets say most postman earn £20 per week on d2d and probally do about four hours o/t a week covering s/l a/l, using the criteria i have just mentioned:

£20 d2d
£32 a week in o/t (lost because of covering for nothing s/l and a/l)
=£2704 per year
or £27040.00 over ten years

Cost of strike @ £60 per day lets say 20 times =£1200

Loss to those postman throwing towel in £25840

Oh and next £10000 per annum pension 60-65 £50000

Plus contributions 60-65 @£20 pw for 5 years= £5200

Full cost of loss pension and contributions postman £52500


So loss of d2d and o/t = 25840
loss of pensions and contributions =£52500
Total losses= £78340
@ £64.60 per day (gross pay) means you would have to have been on strike
for 1212 days before the union loses you money.
Those figures are for people only earning £20 per week d2d and doing 4 hrs o/t a week, if you do more then that you will lose even more!
