Hi,

I recently returned to work after having 4 weeks off due to a broken Toe, I got Statutory sick pay £86 a week when I was off

My Toe is still extremely painful and I'm 99% sure it's healed improperly, As its pointing up and not touching the ground when I stand lol

Anyway, I will be going to the GP this week to get an X-ray on it, I'm pretty sure they will have to surgically re-break the toe and align the bone, Then in plaster for 6 weeks..

For the 4 weeks off I was told I will receive a Stage 1 warning, I havn't yet but I imagine I will this week. Will having another 6 weeks off take me to stage 2? I'm not perm staff, Been working for RM nearly a year, I'm nearing the end of my 2nd 6-month contract.

I know it sounds bad but I cannot afford to live on £86 pw for 6 weeks as I'm only just recovering from the 4 weeks off at very low pay. In early December I have been with RM a full year, So I will be entitled to full sick pay? I think I'm just going to have to limp on and try and push the Surgical re-break back to December so I get fullpay.. I know its bad but Is there anything else I can do?

Unfortunately, i think you might find you now have to be with the business 2 yrs before getting full sickness pay. That's why they love offering these rolling contracts, with no guarantees.

I believe sick pay is paid after 1 years service... unless things have changed and no one told me?
