i signed for a new duty as per revision and can they move me

we had our revision in mid july and I signed up for a duty which has lots of problems which cause me to cut off most days.i found out before I went home today via a colleague that from Monday I am being put onto a delivery which I don't know is this allowed.all info greatly appreciated.

yep,did exactly the same to me a few years ago, the guy they put on the walk to replace me was one of the office bum lickers and obviously he had no problems with it, which led to the usual performance issue accusation. just go to work on the understanding that the metre starts running when you start and you switch it off at your finish time,whatever walk you do in between doesn't really matter.

We have that going on in our office these days... The only issue is that managers are selective on who they move or ask to move (same thing like). Some are untouchable and some are just walkholders who knows very few rounds and there is no need to move them anyway,

But moving walkholders and floaters to accommodate reserves is taking the biscuit. Some of these reserves actually upgraded their hours to become reserves and so should be made to learn and do as many rounds as possible.

Coz he will probably complete.

He might come in early.

He may well skip his break.

It's doubtful he'll use a trolley.

Last time I was moved, it took me ages to complete. A few days I had to cut off, and it took a week and a half to get up to speed.

It is also useful to point out, that when it comes to moving people about, it has to be done in a fair manner, and can't be used as a punishment.
For example, if they move you this week, for operational reasons, then next time, even if it's the week after, they should ask someone else to move, and place you back on your own duty.
Otherwise, you may start to feel as though you are being victimised.

One lad at our office was sent to a mail centre miles away when he told them he wouldn't be going passed his time.
Dont know of he's making the screws arrange transport there and back within his hours.

why are letting this happen talk to your union rep if he has any weight this is not allowed dont listen to the managers argue your case if you have signed for a delivery in a revision this is yours until you decide to come of its not because a manager says so or your having problems your rep is there to help...

if you dont feel your getting this help go above him dont suffer in silence..

dont let the managerial bullying mentality rise above what is your right..

and if anyone else says different in any replys there wrong...

They don't move duty holders in my office, only floaters who didn't pick the duty. They tried once and the guy refused, got the rep involved and the managers left him on his duty.

It was a BS reason for trying to move him though, they wanted to collapse his walk as it was easier to split than the other one they wanted him to do.
