Working as a spare

Hi.

Im quite new to the job been with the royal mail about 4 months now as a postman.
and just got my contract extended which is great.

Im working as a spare in the Thornthon heath office.. The only thing im worried about is over the last few weeks or so there has been no available to walk go on.
So ive had to do a couple of weeks in the Croydon office.
Luckilly croydon and thornthon heath share the same office so its not too bad.

Just worried if this lack of avilable walks continues would i maybe lose my job?

Or is this quite a regular occurance with spares/ floaters? And i should expect to maybe move to different offices sometimes.?
Like i said Croydon and thornthon heath share the same office so i guess im quite lucky in that sense

Can I just say that you should avoid giving your real name and office on an open forum like this...

I do not think there is much to worry about. Your contract has been extended and you will serve you contract time. Secondly we are approaching christmas and there almost 0% chance that RM will let anyone go because of lack of work till the middle of January.

So be cool and continue to work regardless of whichever office they send you; even if it is outside your area. People also pick up a lot of sickness and so on after christmas and in the winter so happy days.
