On holiday/asked to come in to work
On holiday at present and just had lino phone (11.30am) asking me if I could work. Politely told him I couldn't. Does this just happen in my office or is this nationwide????

nationwide, you should get him to put lists up on the wall in the DO, if your willing to come in on short notice ie day, if your willing to come in on short notice ie holiday and if your willing to work extra on the day, DOM asks the names on these lists first before he asks anyone elsesteven100 wrote:On holiday at present and just had lino phone (11.30am) asking me if I could work. Was he offering to pay you for working during your annual leave or giving you another day back some other time?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I've had that, didn't mind, he didn't think to offer to pay me for working during my annual leave or to give me another day back some other time, so I claimed and got that days leave back which I understand to be the correct procedure.

I couldn't do it. They also phoned first week of my holidays but I was in Thailand. Personally I think it should be made law when your on holiday your unable to attend work. I know its unlikely.

In the 2010 agreement it states you are not allowed to come in on overtime or scheduled attendance when you are on annual leave.

They've stopped people coming in while on annual leave at ours now, they used to allow you to work one day.

But will it change anything? You may find, as we have in our area, that they have many supporters elsewhere, and so can't be gotten rid of.zx135 wrote:didnt say our office, just the ones in our area, and the area rep is s**t thats why ours is standing against him next election :)UnhappyGremlin wrote:That's against agreements.zx135 wrote:people in all the offices round here still get ot for coming in on annual leave days

Re: On holiday/asked to come in to work
if you dont try then your not going to know, its not a pointless fight to try and shift a poor rep, even if you dont manage to shift him might put the wind up him into bucking up his ideaUnhappyGremlin wrote:But will it change anything?
