Driving licence

We're currently having a driving licence check in our office (seem to have one every few months). The thing is I'm sick of being a driver with all the extra responsibility. For example our vans our checked on an almost daily basis and they even go out looking for handbrakes that are not applied. Asking to be taken off driving would probably get a very bad response. What do you think would happen if I said I couldn't find my licence? I can see this ending badly if I go down that road but would be interested in any constructive comments.

we have a licence check once a year line manager check's log book every month, why would your manager spend time chasing after you to make sure you put your handbrake on has'ent he got tea to drink and a comfy chair to sit in.

handed my license to a manager to check and never saw it again got another check coming up so hopefully i can get royal mail to pay for a replacement

Twice yearly check and we need paper copy and photo card, digi card and dcpc card too . All photo copied back and front . Paperwork signed by both you and manager and that's it. Come on it's not that diffcult . They don't know if you have lost your license or even been banned .

"they even go out looking for handbrakes that are not applied" which is ridiculous if it's a Vauxhall Combo as their handbrakes don't work anyway.

Had to show my license 2 years ago. The worse thing is I transferred 10 years ago. Took my word that I could drive Have been a rural driver 18 years. Also still waiting for our mug shots from 2012,for our I D badges, run out in Jan 2012.

Depends on what your contract says, if your a newer employee they all say driving is part of your job so if you refuse to show license you could be conducted and in theory if no other duty you could actually lose your job though that would be unlikely

We have to show ours twice a year.
Also told (well threatened) that failure to comply will result in removal from driving duties.
So, if I ever fancy being taken off, I'll just not bother bringing me licence in.
