How Many Days ?

Ok I know it's a fairly unforeseen element just yet.

But how many days strike ( If the Yes vote goes through ) do you think there would be ? ( Can't see where this has been mentioned ) _ I'm thinking that just 1 day will have pretty much a null effect to the big picture.

my personal estimate will be 3 one day strikes max, 1 per week, gives 3 weeks to get to a new agreement of the century that gets the strikes stopped

as long as it takes but im just hoping the union does not bottle it this time and get a s**t deal which a few months later the rm don't recognise im ready to go out and stay out this time its a whole new ball game we lose we are f****d

Privatisation is happening, all three main political parties want it. All we can do is get what we can from it while making it as difficult and uncomfortable as possible for RM and the parasites than run British politics.

Posties don't strike on a Friday. The office will expect you to deliver it all on Saturday. Better to strike on a Saturday and get rid of the extra on Monday and Tuesday the quieter days. Also the public won't be too inconvenienced.

better to go on strike on friday, then too much to deliver on the saturday, so more likely that more will cut off on the saturday so back log does not clear and rolls over onto monday tuesday where by posties more likely to accept a bit of over time those days to off set the loss of a days wage at end of week

i can pretty much guarantee there will be pressure ot on offer to clear back logs on Monday in my scenario, having the mail fail for three days on the trot will have local managers necks on the line, also during the last strikes OT was paid to clear in certain offices if things kept rolling over

Exactly, what is the point in striking in the first place, if you are going to go in early, claim ext del, or work day off to clear the back log? Nothing will ever be achieved otherwise! It's these selfish ones that have made the job the way it is, & as a result you see the consequences, but they are too blind to see it!

its the fact that we are on strike and mail not getting delivered on set days, thats what will drive the big customers like amazon to have a word with royal mail and threaten to take business elsewhere, they are the ones with the real power and with us walking out and delaying their deliveries and upsetting their customers they will have the real influence to push rm to negotiate

I don't think it will last long. I too have predicted a few days.

One thing I will say is, last time we had ro0lling strikes, which in my opinion worked well.
They had a 2 to a 2 and a half week backlog, and RM said they wouldn't talk until that was cleared.
We cleared it, and RM refused to talk properly. This time, if we have them over a barrel, the CWU should refuse to clear up any mess UNTIL the talks are concluded and the deal signed off.
