Seen it happen regularly until the managers set up a better monitoring system to make sure everyone took them - lapsed walks were stuffed every week with excess dtd's - I guess the receiving customers were trying for a recycling award - but I bet the customers paying for a planned distribution would not be happy if they were informed about what is going on !!!

Our office had a visit this week from the manager of the whole of the region. It was a horrendous day, 90% of people said they weren't collapsing and the manager threw a hissy fit, quoting flexibility etc etc and in the end it was covered on ot but some did fold and take it.

One pair of walks not only had all the s**t we did but also had a large flat for every house on both walks, they didn't have a hope of anywhere near completing and said they were cutting off. The manager told them to take it all out and bring back what was left, they brought 8 bags back and it was still there the day after.

It's no wonder staff are being pushed for more and more, all Moya and her cronies see is clear offices because line managers are seemingly either too scared to show they are understaffed and can't cover walks, or are too intent on making sure they get their bonuses by never failing. I've heard rumours of managers sending out leftover mail in vans so the office is clear when their bosses turn up.

I'm going to email Moya and ask if she's aware of these regular USO failures.

I posted on here earlier this year about them making us randomly take other peoples door to door to random houses on our duties we`d already been with them, meaning floaters etc leave there d2d over the week and we clear them all saturdays. Anyways, got my area rep involved, who contacted the director of mail, and it was stopped soon after. Never mentioned again, UNTIL TODAY.

We had 4 spare staff, but still they make us lapse 2 duties! They had 2 spares prepping the d2d for next weeks 2 lapsing duties when I got back, the locker staff usually do them on Mondays, so I noticed that they had about 8 piles of d2d each, and were just randomly chucking them together, putting 5 in some and 7 in others etc, so I said your doing it wrong, you put 1 of each in each pile, then I said have we 8 lots next week? DAFUQ. And I was answered with "No, just 3, the other 5 are this weeks excess, theyve told us to randomly stick them in with next weeks on the lapsing rounds to clear them"

So YET AGAIN, our world class office appears to be just that , WORLD CLASS, on paper at least. Reality is its probably the worst run office in the country regarding treatment of staff, and how things are done. Its mafia like in what goes on. Did you know in the last 4 years we`ve lost over half, maybe more, of our FT staff. We havent had 1 single accident, no one books overtime, we clear everyday, no one ever goes sick, we lapse all year round, all our d2ds are cleared every week, we have 3 managers and just 20 rounds, last week we had 4 managers, all go home early on a daily basis.

But the reality is most of the potted staff where sacked on VERY dodgy grounds, most claiming to be set up (No idea if true), accidents occur from time to time, and result in the perp getting a 2yr serious, this has happened maybe 6-7 times, with the injured party being accused of allsorts including a woman accused of being beaten by her husband when she slipped on ice. Excess d2d are disposed of in lapsing rounds, people go sick, are given the option to owe time back, which they do, freeing up time for other occasions, people go over regularly but NEVER get paid so have either given up trying, or just start an hour or so earlier, to finish on time. We only need 1 manager, if that. The normal manager is due to start on sats at 615 with us, he rocks up at 715, and is driving home at 930. The dom goes home daily between 11-12, and takes EVERY saturday off.

Our office is soooooooooooooooooooooo good that our managers havent been moved anywhere else for 9 years! Why? Well obviously HQ realise you cant improve upon perfection

You do realise that your Office will be held up as a shining example of how WCM is helping to improve everyone's life?

On a serious note I am amazed that these Dickheads have been getting away with these tricks for so long. I know it's easy to say "Man UP" & "Grow a pair"! Surely so much "Bad Practice" must rise up and become VERY apparent to those Area & District Managers that are meant to be responsible for your office. Do you think Moya would do anything IF she knew? Will Postman Pat lose his job after the Sell Out? There's a thought have the CWU thought of using that in their Anti-Privatisation Campaign?

Sorry state of affairs Jimmy You do really seem to be up against it. Can other members of your office be persuaded to keep putting in grievances? Often when a Manager racks up enough they move him sideways!

I understand your office "Appears" as a shining pillar of WCM, and therefore your Manager walks on water.....but how about a few e-mails to the appropriate people mentioning FRAUD, Falsifying Reports, Delaying the Mail, Failure of USO (obviously explaining the "REAL" picture), doesn't sound as if anything can get any worse in your office. After all e-mails are a record of fact and you can ask for verification that they've been received .

I've always thought what it needs is a Postie with some backbone, that's near to retirement, and is willing to expose these particular cans of worms to the powers above. Any fallout is obviously not going to effect him too much. I can well understand people not wanting to put their head above the parapet ( with many years left to work) especially when they might not get any support from the colleagues they're trying to help!

Just had a thought! Are we protected by any sort of "Whistle Blowing" legislation...such has been introduced into the NHS....perhaps that could help some of us to cover our ASS!

I'm surprised the IB walked away and let it slip. Obviously your office has a history of mates covering other mates...makes you wonder why? The CWU Rep story....VERY funny!

Any ideas why the CWU Area Reps seem to be avoiding the issues in your office? Certainly seems a ripe target for making a point about H & B and many other BAD Management practices. Perhaps your Manager makes Funny Handshakes and likes to roll one trouser leg up?
