I delivered a letter today,the gate was ajar already and as im walking away the lady opened the door and rudely said "close the bloody gate will ya"!!. Her attitude was awful to me. I told her not to talk in that tone and that the gate was already open (which it was) and I refused to. She said she was going to report me for 'my' attitude towards her. This was at 10am. I wasnt nasty to her. When I got back at 2.30 nothing was said to me and now im worried as its her word against mine. Ive never met the woman but she sounds like she could make me look really bad. Do complaints go to a central dept or would I have heard something when I got back? I dont want to get suspended if she decides to cause trouble. Ive not been in trouble ever so unsure of the procedure.

I would not worry about it. If it was a regular thing, then you would have a problem. She will probably let it go. I have had proper arguements with customers a couple of times. One was so abusive I told her to FECK OFF! She complained, but my manager backed me up, she was a regular, abusive person to posties.

I think we call customers a lot worse things than that I would not worry at all don't know what your getting so stressed about

It's a one on one conversation, and she can't prove you did say it any more than you can prove you didn't.

At my induction I was told to always close gates. I leave as I find it, hopefully open as they are only territorial pissing anyway. I hate the f***ing things.
