pre employment checks

Hi,ive just been given a conditional offer to be a postman and was wondering what the pre employment checks consisted of.really im worried about if they ask for references because me and my last employer didnt see eye to eye an hes sure not to sing my praises.i have no criminal record or anything its just me an my last boss didnt get on.any help would be appreciated

They can't give you a bad reference, it is against the law. The worst they can do is say "Yes, he worked here"

This situation was the same as I was in 3 years ago, My employer and I couldn't stand the sight of each other but it made no difference. I still got the job. Don't worry, as stated previously, you can not give a bad reference.

They have to give a truthful reference! It can include something bad if it's the truth.

Cheers for the advice everyone.its put my mind at rest as i havent done anything wrong apart from having a personality clash with him.sickness/discipline record is fine just didnt want him making random rubbish up to to throw a spanner in the works. Cheers again

Don't worry, you will fit in well our managers are good at personality clashes
