Second day sick manager sends a registered letter spouting nonsense,day later he rings me showing no sympathy what so ever,just wants to know when i will be back.Its pathetic, i have a good sick record and all it does is give you the hump and makes you want to stay off even longer.

They will claim they have a"Duty of care" thats utter bull**** all that concerns them is they might have to do a bit of work.Its called "Harassment"this company does not know anything else.

It's definitely a form of harrassment.
If you phone in sick on day 1, tell them you estimate your time off to be, for instance, 3 days, you really shouldn't hear anything from your DIM until day 4, if you're not back at work by then, and haven't phoned in.

Hi, if you are staying of till Monday you must ring up friday or (Saturday if you are due in) as they will incloud Sunday as a sick day

Ive been off sick with food poisoning all week I got a letter outlining the sickness proceedure that very day! and yes i did feel harrassed. Luckily for once the manager has not phoned me as i have been phoning in each day to say i wont be there as still sick, altho this morn i was told not to worry about ringing back tomorow as i said i doubt i'd be back in till Mon.
You can self certificate for 7 days so no need to worry.

Last time I was off sick I rang in every day to keep them informed, but the manager still rang me EVERY afternoon to see if I would be in the next day.
