What is the worst case scenario?

Its hard to say without knowing the context but IN THE VERY WORST case a Court Appearance (its illegal not to report some kinds of RTA) and dismissal. Of course that depends on the nature of the RTA as well. A non injury, non damage (to other vehicle or roadside furniture) - probably no court case but failing to tell the manager on return, or at the time, and they knew they had an accident - difficult to say in this climate but dismissal could not be ruled out completely.

But if the van's only really fit for the scrap yard anyway and it's non injury and non damage to other vehicle or roadside furniture then there might not be anything to worry about.

Wasn't me.

He parked the van whilst delivering and caught a parked car. Spoke with the other man, who was all ok as no damage done to his. He looked at own van, although aware there was damage, chose not to report it as there was also plenty of previous damage. He thought it didn't look that noticeable. It was. As a manager spotted it two days later and he went in for a fact finding interview yesterday.

Foolish for not reporting it. He knows that was a big mistake but now obviously concerned where it may lead.

Well two days later is not proof positive he caused the damage UNLESS he owned up to it or the other driver contacted RM - please tell me he didn't admit it or that he did and said he simply forgot because of the pressure of work and the negligible damage - did he speak to the union rep, if he's not a member join now!
