Thanks

Re: Opting out of Shares
Do nothing and you will get shares.
Opt out you get nothing.
What is the point in opting out? It wont change anything in your life by doing so,Just means you miss out on some cash.

The government is intent on privatization, as part of that they are giving us free shares
opt out you will get nothing
dont opt out then you get the free shares which you can sell, its a no strings attached thing, royal mail are rail roading through the privatization, the share are not linked to any agreements, they dont tie you to doing extra work in your office, they are simply free with no strings attached other than the company is being privatized which is going to happen even if 100% of members opted out of receiving them

But why are they giving us free shares?zx135 wrote:The government is intent on privatization, as part of that they are giving us free shares
Do I want to be complicit in this share-owning democracy engaged worker nonsense?
Do I want to receive my dividend knowing my colleagues are worse off in order for me to attain it?
I agree that opting out will achieve nothing except maybe a clearer conscience.
I don't want to be rich, I want to be ideologically correct.

Taking the shares will not make you rich, but not taking them will make you poorer.clashcityrocker wrote:I don't want to be rich, I want to be ideologically correct.

How will it make me poorer?Jefferson Starfish wrote:Taking the shares will not make you rich, but not taking them will make you poorer.clashcityrocker wrote:I don't want to be rich, I want to be ideologically correct.
On paper you will have approx. £2 000.
In 3 years your paper £2 000 might have grown or it might have shrunk.
I will have exactly the same amount as when I started. I won't be poorer.

Re: Opting out of Shares
Well in reality they aren't giving you free shares! If someone gives you something then they can't take it back, if they are your shares you should be able to sell them whenever you wish, if you leave the company under a cloud you lose them. Those restrictions don't apply to real customers buying shares, there is also the fact that the profits made to enable the sell off has been produced by the work force.zx135 wrote:The government is intent on privatization, as part of that they are giving us free shares
I'll be accepting the shares, who knows it may be a long shot but I won't be investing my own money - in the words of the Dragons in that instance I'm Out.

Re: Opting out of Shares
Opting out is as good as throwing money down the drain,Give your head a wobble and understand how daft you are being.
Refusing them is quite simply stupid,Then again it means more shares for everyone else,So Yeah,Refuse away please
