No day off

I'm a full time reserve and my office is on the 9 day fortnight .

Can my dom give me no day off if the office is low on staff? (ie work the whole 6 days?)

For 3 months now I've been given just 1 day off in the week (due to low staff)

NO he can't make you do this....9 day fortnight is 5 days one week 4 days next simples: unless you are prepared to do o/t of course, remember as long as you have completed your 39hr week there is nothing Mngt can do but ASK m8y

You are entitled to your day off.
They can ASK you to work it, but not force. And make sure you're paid for it too.

The managers staffing issues are exactly that, theirs, not yours.
Try not turning up on your day off, what can they really do about it?

It is up to Royal Mail to have enough staff to cover for illness/day off/holidays. They don't do due to absorbing plus paying people overtime to do it.

That's a different question entirely than what we thought you were asking.
You are still entitled to a long weekend, the same number as everyone else in your unit.

Are you really entitled to a long weekend? Theres spares at our place who havent had a long weekend EVER. They`ll occasionaly get Mondays off, rarely sats off, never the 2 together. The majority are given Tuesdays off.

Yes. It's in BT2010. (Though I accept that RM and it's managers don't keep to it - but staff and Reps are just as much to blame for not enforcing this).

To say that reserves aren't granted the same chance as duty holders for long weekends off is just plain discrimination.
