Working in another delivery office..

Am classed as a reserve in our office..after returning from my duty on sat was told that I would be needed in another office 30 miles away, was supposed to be covering a guys duty who is on hol next week but was changed with me being removed from expected duty and most office working their Day off and dutys next week on the board have me at a different office for 4 days,Told my manager that I have no car as I cycle to work every day which is true,where do I stand on this,is it enough notice for me,and if I cycle to other office do I take my travel time into hrs worked,which someone did tell me at our office.

I'm pretty sure that its up to managers at your office to get you to the other office. Cycle to your own office and get there at your normal start time as ask them to get you to the other office. Make sure they have a way to get you back to your home office so you're there at your finish time. You start and finish at your home office at your official times.

you start at your home DO at your start time, you then start your travel, in anyway you can ie:train, bus, car or bike and travel to the other office.
make a note of how long this take as you need to be back at your home office at the end of your normal hours.

Working in nearby offices – Areas will identify and agree with the CWU locally a approach (which could include the use of volunteers and reserves) to working in nearby offices within employees’ contracted hours which will include travel times and appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements.

Thank you for your response,will make way to my local work place at start time,how about training on the duty I will be covering as have never worked in this office,am I entitled to appropriate training or do I just sink or swim!

I wouldn,t worry. At least one hour each way travelling to take off your duty time. So at least two hours less stood on your feet. They will soon get pissed off with that and no doubt you will be back on home territory very quickly.
