park and loop query

Just a quick question about park and loop responsibilities.
I remember in our big picture talk our dim, now sacked, said the driver in a park and loop was responsible for parcels, tracked and specials. Now was that accurate or not, dim in question was dodgy as hell hence the sacking. Does this mean that the driver needs to ensure specials done by 1 and tracks are all scanned, and i guess the driver would be responsible for collecting and signing for specials from the locker.
Any clarification would be appreciated along with a nod towards any guidelines i can print off.

We've been on P&L for just over a year now. Funnily enough we've found that applying a bit of common sense helps (something that is sorely lacking in a computer programme). Driver takes big, heavy things. Walker takes little, light things whether they be tracked, specials, whatever. Works for us!

if its able to fit in whoever bag and before 1pm then its the responsibility of those carrying it, obviously you work as a team and if you think its borderline then its put to 1 side in case of a dash, a driver is paid exactly the same rate as a non driver, but ultimately if there's a SD late on the duties you both know and plan accordingly
99% of the time its fine, if 1 is left waiting then that's tough!
don't know if its just coincidence but my oppo, a non driver gets the bigger duty to prep, i sort the big parcels & SD in order,

As has been said, you should both have PDAs so there is no reason for the walker not taking any tracked or specials. The only limits on what a walker can take is weight, size and time I.e. Time goes quick and its suddenly 12 45, the driver must to nip off and rhe special done

Yeah the common sense approach works for us but it just came up in conversation. Guess the former dom was talking out of his derriere as usual, thank fook he got the push. Thanks all.
