Im obviously against privatisation but in reading the latest propaganda highlighting our shares which will be worth f'all, i came across the statements that if we choose to leave royal mail employment by choice or are sacked etc, then the shares which are supposedly given to us and thus ours, will be taken from us, so they are not our shares until 3 years after privatisation. How can something which is changing hands ie a gift, then be taken back?
Their may be some rules and regulations which covers this nationally regarding any company, but i think its totally pathetic, its like a bribe to stay with the company, say 2 years down the line i find a decent job rather than the shite i deal with now, i will have no choice but to give them up and have no choice in the matter.
It would be interesting to know if previous share issues (gas, bt rail etc) also had this caveat.. as you it is disgusting, but I wouldn't expect anything less from these scumbags.
would someone on here answer me this these shares given or not if there given to you free there yours are they not same as if you were to buy them or if they were given as a gift so how can they be took off you by rm if you leave or get sacked to me that makes them as much use as the last lot do they not because there plastic shares not real not yours biggest pile of pish ive ever heard bull s**t

I think they are held in trust for 3 years and then you can sell them. (Though you have to pay tax, after 5 you can sell them tax free).
I think they do belong to you, but should you quit/get sacked then you forfeit them. Don't think you'll ever hold them in your hand.
I think it's another way of RM securing our obedience, and another way to bully us into what they want.
They are free at the end of the day.
If you bought some extra, then RM couldn't touch those or force you to do anything with them.
Viking we are not in a mess we are still in the dark ages and this privatasation will take us forward. People just worry about change. Think of postman pat had a van and a cat in 1970s tv and it was not until he late 90s we had a golf trolley to pull the mail. Now we have a shiny van for the delivery staff..
would be interesting to know if we get voting rights as with these shares, the posties holding 10% of the company could make a big difference, imagine the fun voting on the pay packages for the senior mamagers

if that's what you really think I hope it all turns out like u hope but your so wrong privatisation is no good for anyone it will cost 1000s of jobs and that is just a start if u want to live in your little dream world that's up to you when you get your p45 the only person you can blame is yourself
