Re: The Press
I wouldn't tempt RM to throw the book at you! No doubt we will still have the OSA to contend with along with any number of new conduct issues they can introduce

Re: The Press
Nobody signed the OSA...
Q.“I have heard that Royal Mail officials must enter/agree to the Official Secrets Act. If this is true what effect does this have on Freedom of Information? Also, what purpose is served by having postal workers enter such an agreement?”
A.All Royal Mail Group employees are required to sign a ‘Personal Declaration’ upon
commencing their employment. This covers the responsibilities of Royal Mail and its
employees in terms of safeguarding mail, how to deal with confidential information, our
internal Code of Business Standards and the Data Protection Act 1998. The ‘Personal
Declaration’ is not part of the Official Secrets Act, and the form makes no reference to this Act.
There is this however...

Many a rep has been interviewed and been quoted in the press especially during strike action and they are still here.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The Press
definitely not, whatever happens there WILL be a confidentially clause in our contracts (we all probably have one now but i can't be arsed to dig it out)
Every employer I've ever had has had something in the contact about not sharing information that may be detrimental to the business. Either by helping out the competition or by giving info to the press that casts a bad light on the company
