Do you generally have your country definitives in stock, if you work in a post office?

I don't work in a post office but I like to use them or the special issue stamps

Stamps - country definitives

I was in a historic city, popular with tourists (not London) when I went into the main post office and asked for country(English) definitives (2nd class, and 88p). They replied they did not stock them as they are not a phila-telic branch. I was a tourist! If I wanted ordinary 2nd class, I could have gone to numerous shops to buy a book of them. Anyway, I am sure the little sub post office round the corner at home has had the Welsh definitives, and the lovely little sub-post office a few miles out of town I visit for my stamp addicton (I send a lot of post) does too.
I am a Postcrosser, and penpaller. I send nice post.

"I could have gone to numerous shops to buy a book of them" - no, books of stamps sold at various retail outlets only contain the ordinary Machin definitive, not regional stamps.

That's my point.. if I wanted ordinary 1st/2nd stamps, I could go to almost any shop... But I want regional (or the special issue) stamps so went to the main post office but they didn't have them
