mail count question

told dom i couldnt take flex [absorbtion] fri because i had a utilty bill for every house. he said he will count my mail i was ok with that as it was a heavy day. i said to dom you will have to count my partners duty to as we are on p/l his round was every house aswell. dom says no i only have to count yours. im pretty sure he should count both as we work together. whos right advice please. ps he said he would pay o/t if i took flex. i said not a chance flex is to be done with in your duty time not as over time

It would depend why he thought you could lapse. Excess indoor time or outdoor time.
If he believed you had sufficient indoor time to allow you to lapse then he only needs to count your indoor work.
But it is all bollocks anyway. Counting your mail is simply a tactic to intimidate you.

why don't people use the procedure. ask dom to take something off you if he does not then tell him you will at a prescribed time phone him and bring back what you cannot deliver. simple. dom is merely harassing you and I am my do rep and would tell him so. this is B&H pure and simple. dom has to follow the agreed procedure. it should be on your notice board.

i do use the procedure, i start on my start time 0615 do my d2d mech ips then back to prep bag up go out on delivery take me 40 mins m/r out there. i do it by the book, i think thats me trouble. he wants me to be like 96% of the office who come in early throw of d2d dont take m/r and runround all day. so when i say i cant absorb(flex as we call it) he wants a mail count

But you have asked him to take some off and if he does not then you are entitled to tell him you will take it out and bring back what you cannot deliver. so he can take a count but it is unacceptable and harassment. your rep should tell him so and ,merely tell him ok you will bring back what you cannot deliver. look at the B&H RM own procedure that tell you that excessive supervision is B&H. I sometimes have the same issue. I do not argue I say ,fine, I will bring back what I cannot deliver and walk away
