Draws the wagon up outside the knackered Royal Mules paddocks, pulls a carrot out and a few lumps of sugar, click click, come on you two, time for the sausage factory :Boo hoo! :chuckle

Seriously, I feel your pain, the job cripples you in the end....then when your off, the line manager always opens their letters with, "your welfare is of our uppermost concern" ;liar :so there

Overweight bags, refuse them, get them weighed, logged and ask to see correspondence sent to office concerned AND their response....it's often one or two consistantly breaching H&S....don't put your already aching shoulders, backs through it!

2 questions:
1) Why is your HCT 170 kg - is it a super duper new one with a mega capacity?
2) Why do you need to bend over to brush your teeth? Where are they?

Jimmy:

My mrs had a slipped disc and went thru hell with it.

She had all the MRI's etc but ended up not having an op as it somehow righted itself...

Still has good days and bad days but she bought an inversion table off amazon a fair while ago..... basically you lie on it, then incline it backwards ( angle is adjustable ) and you feel like you are hanging upside down, but it stretches/loosens the spine..

She swears by it, and uses it every other day or so.

In fact we are soon moving from a house to a flat, and don't really have room for the table, but she is adamant that it is going to new place !!!

HTH and good luck

use trolleys and take the load off. first thing I do when I get home is a good stretching routine. calves, quads, hamstrings, IB , and back etc. the muscles tighten when under any exercise and need stretched.

My knees are gone and my fingers are f***ed, my shoulder is just cream crackered,
metatarsal plays up when I get out of bed, just before the hair gets lacquered.

Can't bend over more than a hapless cripple, without making involuntary grunts
one day I'll tell them to shove this job, those bunch of coffee-drinking c**ts.

6 foot 6 and 19 stone?
Your bmi is over 30.
No wonder your body is struggling.

I believe the maximum gross weight of Mark I HCTs is 104Kg (isn't is ~132Kg for Mark IIs?), but that does not mean I will leave the depot at anything close to that weight and certainly not beyond it. If a HCT walk has drop points, I use them, it keeps the trolley light and therefor I can move the HCT easier (less inertia to stop and start) and put less stress on my body (which already has some niggling injuries). Pushing less weight uses less of my energy and makes me do each stint between drop points quicker (albeit I then "lose time" replenishing my HCT). If I have to wait for my drop bags to turn up, it unusally means even more o/t to claim (unless I'm waiting at our scheduled outdoor break time) or an unexpected reason to have to tell the office I'm coming back with some mail because I cannot go over.

Management soon learn to not load up the bag drop driver with "priority packets" and ensure the first priority of this driver is getting the drop bags to collection points. If we all stopped using bag drops, what do you think happens to the role of the bag drop driver over time and what happens to the size of the HCT walk if OPGs do not need to stop and replenish? :cuppa

Had 2 lots of keyhole surgery because of the job (confirmed by consultant surgeon and agreed by ATOS!!) - next time something goes wrong it will be a new knee. Working inside permanently now (again on ATOS agreement) which has and does help along with sensible physio. Have plenty of workmates with dodgy knees, hips & backs as well caused by delivering the Royal Mail. All caused by too many years pounding the pavements on deliveries nowhere near as long as the monsters they have now.

Of course RM put your health and safety first. Liars.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is cited as 6 foot 5 and 18st 10 lbs.
You wouldn't call him a fat bastard.
Perhaps Jimmy is just big boned.

she advised the dom to get me back sorting in FLIP FLOPS with no socks on!
This is a no no. No one should wear flip flops in the work area. Health and safety rep should have laid the law down on that issue!
