Brown is meeting his advisors today to see if its the right time to call a general election. I don't think he will want a postal strike in the campaigning period.

He's a good accountant. He's not worried about the RM strike. Therefore he KNOWS there is enough money available to settle the dispute fairly :Very Happy

I respect his opinion.

You have to feel sorry for him. If he gives in to us then he'll have to give in to all the other poorly paid, overworked staff in other places. This will mean his big fat cat pals, will drop him like dogshit, and the rich people bugger off because they cannot afford to be less rich by paying a decent wage. Yes Gordon, we need to keep those pay demands low. Not for the economy, but so your rich pals can stay rich. You've forgotten your roots, and Nye Bevan must be doing more spinning in his grave than all of your spin doctors put together.

A son of the Manse? Didn't your father ever tell you about the commandment THOU SHALT NOT STEAL? But steal you did, with our pensions. Perhaps one of his friends can perform a remembrance service for the Royal Mail after you finally kill it off? The post mortem will probably bring back the cause of death as death by creating two arseholes that hemorrhaged money, and the insertion of TNT into the heart of the business.
Glasgow driver.

Q. Who exactly are the Competition?
A. People who'll post a letter for you.

He won't get involved because the goverment would have already given their backing to Alan. Do the posties on here really believe he would risk loosing such a well paid part time job by being so bullish in his actions.
