Signing for a duty,,,then being moved daily ??

a month ago we started a park an loop,,,,errrr fiasco....call it that because weve failed each day.

we used to be an office with every letter,,,every parcel leaving for delivery everyday.

now were a couple of days behind,,,parcels stack up,,,yorks of mail are left standing .

out of about 20 pairs on park an loop we bring back 2 to 4 loops each....bosses are scratching there heads and beginning to question whether were trying or not.

Anyway,,,that aside....I signed for a duty all be it a floaters duty,,,to cover days off.

this week the boss keeps taking me of my duty and getting me to cover a walk that's been left in the day before...so I get 2 days mail.

our rep I holidays this week,,,i know the weeks nearly over but is it right that I can be moved each day after signing for a duty.

They will always use the old "as directed" and "operational needs" excuses/reasons to move you wherever they please. Your best defence is to agree to what the gaffers doing as long as he treats the other floaters the same. I.E. If he`s just moving you then that`s harrasment but if he`s moving all the floaters in some form of rotation to cover failed duties then that`s acceptable.
If you`re in the union then get the rep involved mate.
